LIFE AT HOUSE OF EMET

Where learning comes alive.

Academics and hands on learning aren’t separate things here, they’re woven together everyday so your child just doesn’t memorize facts. They build real understanding that actually sticks.

OUR APPROACH

Three ways learning happens every day

Small Group Instruction

With 8–12 students, every lesson is personal. Children are seen, supported, and taught at the pace they actually need — not rushed or overlooked.

Reading · Math · New Concepts

Hands-On Projects

Learning is meant to be experienced. STEM challenges, science experiments, and meaningful projects help ideas stick because students are actively building and doing.

STEM · Science · Writing · Art

Independent Learning

Students build confidence through focused, self-directed learning. They learn how to think deeply, finish what they start, and grow in independence.

Reading · Writing · Projects

READING AND WRITING

Words are how we understand the world

Reading instruction meets your child exactly where they are — not where the curriculum says they should be. We build fluency and comprehension through texts they actually want to read.

Writing is taught as a real craft — from sentences and grammar to full stories and personal essays. Students write things they're genuinely proud of, not just assignments they hand in.

MATH

Math that makes sense, not just rules to memorize.

Math is taught with manipulatives, real objects, and visual models before abstract formulas are ever introduced. Students build genuine number sense — the kind that transfers to real life, not just test day.

We meet every child where they are. Whether your child needs to strengthen foundational skills or is ready to push ahead, instruction adapts to them — not the other way around.

STEM

Real projects. Real curiosity

STEM at House of Emet means building things, testing ideas, failing, and trying again. Students design robots, explore coding concepts, run science experiments, and engineer solutions to real problems.

Curiosity is the engine. Every STEM challenge starts with a question and ends with something your child built themselves and wants to show you.

OUTDOOR LEARNING & RECESS

Kids who move learn better

We protect recess at least twice a day, every day. Not as a reward. Not when time allows. Every single day, because children are not meant to sit still for six hours.

Children who move, breathe fresh air, and play freely return to their work calmer, more focused, and more creative. This is childhood the way it's supposed to look.

A structured and purposeful week

Structure gives children the safety to take risks and be genuinely curious. Our weekly rhythm is predictable and our students love knowing what's coming next.

Fridays at House of Emet are intentionally designed for growth and discovery. Students begin the day with focused math and reading support to strengthen skills and help close learning gaps when needed. The rest of the day is dedicated to exploring interests beyond the regular school week through hands-on experiences like STEM, public speaking, leadership, coding, life skills, and creative projects. We want children to grow not only academically, but in confidence and curiosity too.
